Why would my dog always always go crazy when the dog whisperer is on TV?
Seriuosly, he acts nuts! I have a Golden Retriever, and he NEVER barks. Not when people come to the house, NEVER! Now, we like the dog whisperer… And have been putting him in the breeze way when he is on, but he STILL goes crazy, barking, running in circles, jumping up and down, it used to be funny, but now its just plain freaky!!!!
It only happens when Dog Whisperer is on. When there are dogs or any other animals on TV anyother time, he could care less.

Do you watch the episodes for entertainment or for education? You could find most of your answer right there.
Have you seen the episode with the Sheltie and the toaster (Season 1)? You might have a similar problem. Letting him run away or keeping him away from the tv when he’s anxious is actually allowing him to continue with the behavior. You may want to collar him as Cesar does, with the collar high on the neck, and have him with you to watch DW. Correct him with the pull upward on the leash. Keep him quiet. Keep him still. Don’t let him run away. Cesar helps dogs by helping them face their fears. By you being "the authority figure" you can show him there is nothing for him to be anxious about.
Watch the show, really watch it and learn from Cesar. It’s very eye-opening and much of it can play a big role in our daily dog-lovin’ lives.
