Why is my dog so fascinated with my video games? Paper Mario in particular?

Not that I am complaining, since I love video games. I just think it is weird, since I have never had a dog that gets into games like mine does. She just stares at the screen watching my character move around and barks whenever a battle takes place, her tail wagging the whole time.

Anyone else have a similar experience with their dog?

    Its cool, my pup does the same thing. But he’s decided that animal shows dont interest him. He likes to watch bright flashy cartoons (jimmy neutron is one of his favorites) and anything with lots of action (his namesake movie Indiana Jones, he’ll watch for hours). Its kinda cool because when I can’t take him with me, I can put in a movie and he’s like a little kid, doesnt even notice I’m gone.

    You’re really lucky. How I wish my dog would look at video games in delight. There is nothing wrong with your dog. She’s just happy…so at least be glad you guys have something in common. ^.-

    Yeah theres nothing wrong with that, my dog loves watching TV and watch me play the guitar and its like hes singing or somethin with me as i play a little. i was freaked out at first but its now really cool. i have a dog that enjoys just about anything. he even looks at the computer screen sometimes watching me.

    Dogs are colorblind, plus they’re just mesmerized by the flickering lights on your set.

    My dogs never watched me play video games, but I now have a cat who does. She prefers side-scrollers over 3D games, and she loooooves Sonic. Usually she’ll sit on top of my Gamecube and watch the screen, but sometimes she’ll get up close and bat the screen with her paw.
