what kind of worms grow in dog food?
I went to get a milkbone today and there were little tan worms about 1/2 inch long, and black hardshell bugs. Any idea where they came from or if they are dangerous to dogs? Thanks!

We call the "weevils" where I live, but I don’t really know if that is a real term, LOL!
Throw away the dog food, it is no good.

They’re not worms, they’re beetle/moth larvae. Throw out the entire box or bag, you can’t feed them to a dog now.

i would not give that to my dog at all you should report it to the place were you bought it because i have never heard that worms are good for dogs it could harm them and i wouldn’t give it to my dog because i definitely wouldn’t eat anything with worms in it

Did they look like this http://www.extension.umn.edu/projects/yardandgarden/EntWeb/Galleries/house/beetle/house-beetle-flourbeetle.html

Those are images of flour beetles. They are a pain the butt to get rid of. You need to toss out those dog treats in a sealed bag, and go through all your other food to check for beetles as well.
