What kind of illness would make a dog paralysed on one side???

I saw this episode of animal cops and they found a pitbull who couldn’t get up from her side it looked like if she was paralysed
I didn’t finished seeing what happened that is why I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of illness was that?

    Hello !x…..She couldent move and she was on one side because she would of sufered from a minor stroke which messes up your brain which can lead to you being paralysed and walk funny…..I no this because i have studied animals since i was 6 n im now 14 xx

    I think polo can do that to a dog. If it doesn’t have his shots needed as a puppy, it can catch the disease from another stray dog.

    rabies and distemper can cause the animal to go into a paraleptic stage as well….

    More often than not, it’s caused by a Stroke, but there can be several causes of those, either disease or accident.
    A stroke or cerebrovascular accident is the term used for the signs shown by an animal when the blood supply to the brain is reduced. There are two types of stroke:
    Ischaemic stroke is caused by a sudden lack of blood supply to the brain (often caused by a blood clot) and
    Haemorrhagic stroke (or bleeding within the brain) is caused by a burst blood vessel.
