He’s 7 months old.
Right now i’m giving him milkbone brand treats. I noticed that the ingredients aren’t the greatest. I was wondering what brands are healthy for dogs his age, and aren’t too pricey?

    Have him eat bones, rawhides, pigs ears, etc.

    Edit: I dunno. I’ve owned dogs for over 20 years, fed them rawhides and pigs ears, and never had a problem.

    Mother Hubbard dog biscuits are my dog’s favorite. They are healthy and not too expensive. They are made by Wellness which makes an excellent dog food.

    ADD: Be very careful with rawhides and pig ears. They can chip and damage the dog’s stomach. You also need to be careful how they are cured. Raw bones are generally good

    i feed my dogs natural balance dog food and they sell the meat rolls and treats too. i like to buy the small meat rolls and you just slice it like salami and give it to them like treats. its all natural stuff.

    You don’t really need to buy from the pet store to give him healthy food. They can eat some human food like carrots. I give my dogs diced carrots as treats as the love it and helps clean their teeth.

    Please stop giving him Milkbone. It’s garbage, full of chemicals and will
    harm his teeth. Grains should not be part of a dog’s diet.
    Save yourself lots of $$ and give him baby carrots.

    *** i wouldnt recomend any treats that are the large green bones…. my grandparents used them for their two dogs and it gave them big digestion problems…. it was a different brand but still i wouldnt trust them****

    I would recomend raw hides…. they are a good way to keep the puppy from chewing on other things in your house and it helps with teething.

    My personal favorite and what i use with my dog now is to check what kind of food your dog is eating currently…ill use my dog as an example

    ***Using dog food as treats***

    Most of the food that we feed my dog is the meaty types of dog food. Recently when we went to the dog store i noticed my dog going crazy over two spacific types of dog food. Since they had sample bags i took one of each of those two types of dog food. As it turns out both of those types of dog food contained WHITE FISH in them!

    My mom had realized this about a year ago and started buying the small bags of that food, not as her every day diet food, but as TREATS!! we keep my dog on a meaty dog food diet and occationally reward her with the white fish food and she thinks it is treats. The nice thing about this is it is the healthiest possible “treat” she could possibly have.

    what i recomend it to find a dog food that your dog goes absolutely crazy over and use that as treats while feeding him another type of dog food. this way he will only recieve the “treat food” occationally and wont get boared with it! I did some reasearch on the whitefish mixes and found that it is very good for the dogs coat and for their skin… we have been using the whitefish now for a year and my dog…. the smartest dog i have ever seen, still thinks of it as treats….

    I used to get some chicken treats for a senior dog I had that was dehydrated chicken and he loved them. I can’t recall the name of them but I do remember getting them at petsmart. I hope you find what you want in there for your baby.
