What are the effects and symptoms to a dog with worms?
My dog has his worm shots and everything, but whenever I walk him around my neighborhood he always eats random things and dog/cat poop! I’m afraid he might have worms….
How can I tell?
and what will happen?
and can humans get worms? what would happen to them?

If you’re afraid of him eating random things on the ground, a muzzle might be a good route to go until you can train him to leave those things alone, for his own safety. Worms are treatable if he catches them, but he can catch diseases by eating the feces of animals, could get something stuck in his intestines, choke, or ingest something toxic.
It is possible for a human to be affected by hookworm, roundworm, and some types of tapeworm as well, just so you know, so get him treated ASAP.

If he had worms he would poop out worm segments. He would also either look thin or bloated. I would worm him regularly(every 3-6 months) and try to keep him from eating thing on the ground.

when he poops, you can check to see if there’s any worms in his poop. usually dogs with worms have a big tummy. it looks like it’s pregnant, even if you have a male dog. best way to find out, of couse, is to take your dog to the vet and get a blood test. have a nice day!!

When you are walking him around the neighborhood don’t let him eat random things. Yes, he probably has worms. What has your vet said? Yes, humans can get worms. Dr. can prescribe meds if he decides what type of parasite a human has. Both cases need professional opinions and tests.
If you dog had a worm shot how long did the vet say to bring him back for a checkup?

You will normally see the worms in his stool. HIs stomache will appear bloated, and he will eat more since the worms would be sucking the nutrition from him. Left untreated he will also show signs of illness such as lethargy and weakness or worse. I would work on teaching your dog the leave it command so that when you are on walks he does not eat random things. Yes Humans can get worms, only certain types and it would make them ill.
