Separation anxiety problem for my dog?

Okay so I read that you are not suppose to take a long time saying a goodbye, (Which I have been doing) and a hello when I return.
But the problem is, when I come back to my home and I try to keep the “hello” fairly short but I can’t!
My dog goes crazy wagging her tail and literally screaming barking …
How should I deal with this? Any tips?

    Wait until she calms down before acknowledging her and saying hello. Ideally she should be sitting quietly.

    I had a dog like this. Just ignore her and walk away, do something else. If she jumps on you, turn around and walk away. The only thing I would say would be “lay down” that’s it. As soon as he was quiet and laying down then I would reward him with a quiet “good boy” and pat on the head or maybe a treat. If she starts acting up again, start ignoring her again. She’ll get the picture, it takes a while but soon she’ll learn that being quiet and calm gets her the attention she wants.

    Do you crate her? I wouldn’t let my dog out until he was quiet and laying down. It didn’t take him long to figure out that if he was quiet he could come out of his crate. Good luck, dealing with seperation anxiety takes lots of patience! Don’t give up!

    Do not make a dramatic entrance/exit. Dont jump down in the floor and let her lick you, dont yell and scream….etc. I know its hard but it will help your dog. I have even read not to say “goodbye, or ill be back” because dogs can recognize words and they will associate that with you leaving. Just leave calmly and return calmly until your dog is trained.

    When you come home you shouldn’t pay any attention to your dog until it calms down. No looking at him, no talking to him, no touching him. Ignore him completely until he calms down. That way you are rewarding the calm behavior not the crazy behavior. I’m a dog trainer and learning to reward the behavior you want is important. You want the calm behavior not the crazy so if you ignore him when he’s crazy and pet him when he’s calm he’ll learn that he gets attention by being calm.

    You really shouldn’t say hello at all. You come in and go about your own business until she has calmed down. Then you can say hello, and give her some affection. If you acknowledge her at all before she is calm, you are still rewarding her behavior. Also the trainer who worked with us said that you aren’t supposed to tell them good bye either. Just gather your things and go, at least until the problem is fixed, and then you can give a short goodbye.

    personally if she wants to see you that bad and you want to hold her that bad a i would do it!! i know that the dog shows and books tell you not too but who cares you wont have this dog forever!!!! that is just my opinion! sorry if i didnt help!
