my dog have a exessive barking problem?

if any guest comes at home, my dog starts barking. it really disturbes me. if i try to stop him, he does not obey me. he does not stop even i beat him. please help. what should i do?

First of all, NEVER EVER beat your dog, that is not the answer. Screaming at him and spanking him will only lead to further aggression from his part, too. Dogs are sensitive to the owner’s feelings and the more anxiety you display, the more he will bark and act crazy. Try to be calm, but firm with him (but without yelling) so the dog understands that you don’t need his protection in that particular situation (because his instincts are to protect you). And don’t forget that any behavioral problems a dog has are usually the owner’s fault (lack of training, aggressiveness etc.).
