My Dog Has A Worm Coming Out Of Its Cut?

My Dog Has a deep punture wound to its lower back and i just found out there is a worm wiggiling inside it what should i do ?

    This ‘worm’ is probably a maggot cleaning out his wound. This is a good thing but I would still keep an eye on it and take him to the vet.

    Take him to the vet. It’s probably a maggot…which means the flesh is rotting. Get him some medical help!

    REMOVE IT. Its probably maggots, and you need to take him to the vet ASAP.
    If its deep it should have been stiched by a professional. And it hasnt been taken care of if it has maggots.
    Maggots eat muscle, skin and tissue, this is very BAD. he needs to go to the vet now.

    As others have mentioned it is a maggot. Meaning the wound needs to be cleaned much much better! Maggots eat the dead flesh & if there’s one there is probably more. If he gets too many it can kill him. The wound should have been treated by a vet in the first place & it needs to be done so now! It is most likely infected & if the infection spreads that can kill too. Take it to the vet ASAP!

    oh this is easy im out in the country and what some ppl do is but lard in it and see it kills it and were its gone and your dog will clean it and it will heal ive done this to a many of hunting dogs

    ah, wow that’s hard maybe take it to the vet and then your next question is I can’t afford it, then I guess you can’t afford the dog period. the dog deserves care if it is not cared for by a vet in this condition you can be charged with neglect.

    Why didn’t you take it to the vet, when he cut it in the first place? Not getting an animal checked by a vet, if sick or injured, is not only against the law, but most definitely animal abuse! These are not worms, they are disgusting maggots. If you would have had it taken care of when you should have, you would not have this problem! Your dog would have, had to had this happen days, maybe even weeks ago, in order to get Maggots! I feel for your dog! If it’s a deep punture, that has not been properly treated by a vet, then the poor dog is also in a lot of pain, and is probably really infected! You need to get off the computer, and get your dog to the vet NOW! This can’t wait! These maggots are eating away at his flesh! Poor baby!!!
