I have used duct tape to seal up holes my dog has ripped into her stuffed toys. Is the duct tape safe for her to chew on? Obviously it’s not good for her to rip pieces off and swallow them, but is it ok just to chew on?
I consider it rude for someone to jump to conclusions that I am not spending money on my dog. The problem is that she tears into them, eating the stuffing within 5 minutes of giving her a new toy. So now, instead of toys, we have resorted to buying her expensive long-lasting treats. I’d much rather be able to fix her toys. Even my sewing machine doesn’t stand the test! Thanks to those of you who gave suggestions of durable toys!

    No, it’s not a good idea.

    Dog toys should be considered disposable. When they are chewed up throw them away and get more.

    I replace my dogs’ stuffed animals by going to the thrift store and buying up the old toys. At home I remove the eyes or anything the dogs can swallow, and voila, I have a bunch of cheap dog toys.

    absolutly not. you should always either sew up the wholes with dental floss or you should just buy another toy.

    Toys are cheap just buy a new one. I’m sure you can’t watch your dog 24/7 so without you knowing the dog might eat some tape, that would be very bad. Maybe buy your dog a toy that’s less destructible. Kong makes very good dog toys. None of my dogs have destroyed one yet and they are BIG chewers. You can also put treats in some kong toys to keep them amused longer. It works wonders at my house!

    NO. He could tear it off and eat chunks of it, it could choke him, hurt his insides or even worse.

    just buy a new toy, its not worth the risk.
