what material is best to use as in for the lining etc and where would i get this from online?
also where id get thefastenings etc.

  If you use leather, or weave the collars, you necessarily won’t have to use a liner-if you do, thinner nylon webbing works well. As for the fastenings-your local farm supply or hardware store should carry them, or be able to order them for you. They’re relatively inexpensive if you use brass or silver (not sterlling).
