How safe is Advantage Multi for Dogs Safe?

They put Advantage Multi on a dog I am wanting to adopt a few days ago. I have a small child and to be honest, am afraid of that stuff for use even around myself. Is it totally safe by now even if we hug and cuddle the dog all over? What if we give the dog a bath, does this mean the stuff is “wet” again and we must avoid contact with dog for an additional period of time? Or is it totally safe once dry even with hugging and cuddling dog all over and even after bath time?

  It should be safe once product has dried. I don’t know personally any issues ppl have had with contact with it once it has dried. Unless you have very strong allergies or reactions with the those chemicals before, you shouldn’t have any problems. I have no problems handling my dogs or any clients dogs or applying it & I actually can’t be around certain flea ingredients due to overexposure.(from working with flea dips in mobile grooming) The product doesn’t become wet again – it goes to the dog’s oil glands so it can be secreted all over the body to protect the dog. You do need to only bathe with pet shampoos that do not contain soap or detergent since they strip oils from the coat & will remove the product. It is far more healthful for your dog to be protected against fleas & ticks & not to be spreading them to your household & ppl.

  it should be safe. We play with and cuddle with our dogs after treatment and do not have any problems.
