How often should I worm my dog?
Hi, I am wondering how often I should worm my dog from puppy to adult.
Thanks.
I adopted my dog from the local pound so she already had her first vaccinations. I pick her up from the vet tomorrow.

This is a question you should have asked your vet when you brought your pup for its first vaccinations…the worming dose depends on the dogs size, and the proper worming doses should be gotten from your vet.

When your dog is at least one year old, it should be wormed every 6 months.

What kind of worms does your dog have? If the dog has no worms then you should not be introducing unnecessary toxins into his body. Have the vet’s office run a fecal exam to diagnose any worm infestation. If the fecal check is clear, then do not de-worm your dog.

Why not ask your vet? Certainly the pup has been into the vet’s for vaccinations. You get the appropriate worm meds from your vet after taking in a stool sample.
