How do you know when your dog is worms free?

If your dog has worms and you get it treated, what happens?
Not to sound rude but do they poop the worms out? (Sort of like flushing out of system.)
Or how do you know when the dog is worms free?
The dog was treated earlier this month and she had some strange stool this morning.

  If you suspect he/she has worms its best to give the dose twice with a 2 week break in between.She will poop worms out almost immediately,you’re right,to flush out her system! You could always take a fresh stool sample to the vets if you like,who will in turn check under a microscope

  having a stool sample examined under a microscope by a vet is the only way to know 100% if there are worms or not. Or a blood test to check for heartworms.

  Sometimes it does take more than one treatment to get rid of the worms. Take a fecal sample into the vet. For a small fee, they’ll check it and let you know if your dog is worm-free or if she needs another treatment.
