How do I train my dog to put her toys away?

I know this is possible but do not know how. My dog leaves her toys all over the house so my mom and I want to teach her to put them in her box. She is a one year old Lhasa Apso. How do I teach her?

  You can definitely teach her, but it will take a lot of time and patience. First start out with getting her to pick up the toy. Just train her to pick it up and praise when she does. Get a common phrase like “toy” or “pick it up” or whatever you want to say. Once she will pick up a toy on command, you’ll have to practice with her walking with it. So if its in her mouth, go a few feet away and tell her to come here.
  It depends on each dog, but you just have to work with her and keep praising when she does what you want. I suggest baby steps, and not trying to get her to do the whole motion all at once.

  It is going to take time but what you could do is whenever you see it leave its toy somewhere you bring the dog back to the toy and if it knows how to pick it up you tell it to pick it up in its mouth and bring it back to where it was.
  Also include a treat whenever he/she does this so that she learns how to do this over time.
