    I would suggest calling other dog rescue groups and ask them.

    Do you want to be a breed specific dog rescue or all breed rescue? Contact other rescue groups in your area or the humaine society in your state for the up to date rules concerning rescue work. You may want to be a foster home which is less demanding, requires less space and is still be very rewarding to you.

    Contact your cities local website cityname.gov for any laws concerning animals.
