How can I become a registed dog rescue?

I live in Ontario, Canada and would like to start my own small breed dog rescue. How do I go about licencing/registering to become one? Any help would be great!!

    Good luck. We need more rescue! You need to apply to become a non-profit society under the Society's Act of Canada.

    *I should add, don't be intimidated by the paper work that you'll be send. There are A LOT of forms, but it's easy to do. Start to think up of a name to call your rescue/society. You have three options, and the first one you choose will be used (if not already taken). If the first is taken, they'll take your second choice and so-forth.

    I have no idea.,…maybe aska vet or a animal shelter OR another rescuer.

    You will be blessed by doing this for all these poor creatures. Thanks for helping all the poor babies people just didn't want..God Bless and Good luck!!!!

    First thing they will do is come to your place to see if your home and area suitable for housing dogs…….and lots of them, they will tell you how many will be allowed to be handled from your site…..

    then all the fun of getting a license from your local area to be approved to house so many dogs….and many workers will be helping you….if any,……and how are you gonna be funded to do the rescue work, the care and feeding of the dogs…….

    they will look into your financial capability.

    the dogs come first and you must be financially able to do this, and they dont look at it from the point of view, you may be getting donations, they dont add this into the approving at all…..you alone must be financially able to support your rescue.

    you will be getting donations to help I am sure, but they dont count on them up front to get you open.

    next, you will need to select a name for your rescue, and they will take the first name, if not already taken, but they also allow you to choose up to 4-5 names, and this is even in Canada, I checked for you.

    next, you want to make sure you have a lot of really good references, ones that know how well you work with dogs….

    I wish you all the luck in the world, and I think this is really great, and hope you have fun doing it…

    its gonna take some work to get you going, but once you are all approved and setup, please let me know and I will be happy to be a solid funder to help the dogs and animals.
