I’m doing a study to try to find an answer to tear stain problems in dogs. If your dog has, or ever has had, a tear stain problem, I’d like to know if you had any success fixing it or if you tried methods and failed. Also, if you have a breed that commonly has this problem (Maltese, Bichon, Poodle, etc), I’d like you to hear from you why you think your dog hasn’t had the problem.   I have a white bulldog who has a big problem with this from time to time. I have bought different cleaners and I always stop using the product because it seems to irritate her skin. I have tried a total of five different brands and they all have the same result. Her stains clear up a little when I dry them with a cloth every day. but that gets annoying.

  give you dog distilled water instead of tap water the minerals in the water come out in the tears and saliva causing staining

  i have a maltese that had it bad..but my Pomeraianian takes care and cleans it for him. There are certian foods(alot) that they are allergic to. I have mine(both of them) on Ukanuba high manitance. I also take him to the vet for them to clip around his eyes.I have found that when they are groomed well, it is a lesser problem, There are wipes for this. But talk to your local pet stoe they should have some remedies for you.
