A friend of mine told me to give my dog a little bit of a garlic clove to kill the worm problem.

  Will not work. Get a proper wormer from your vet. Worms are horrible for your dog – don’t mess around with this.

  Go to the vet, you can get a quick acting tablet 1 or 2 that will work right away.

  I’m not sure that will work. I hear people giving their dogs garlic to get rid of fleas but not worms. The best thing for you to do is, bring a stool sample to your vet and have them check what kind of worms it has and if there is any kind of infection do to the worms or stress and then have it treated!

  No sorry that is false, some say is helps with fleas from the dogs body odor but I haven’t found that true either. There is Rounds, Tapes, Coccidia, Girardia, Hooks, and Whips they are all intestinal parasite if you think you dog has them it’s best to get a stool exam and the proper med.s due to we can get these as well. You can only see 2 types Rounds and Tapes with the naked eye and in most case if they have one they usually carry another, especially the young.

  you don’t have to go the vet to get a good de-wormer. Go the a pet supply store, and you can buy one. Make sure you get one that covers atleast 7 different kinds of worms.

  From what I have heard, garlic is very bad for dogs.
  The only way I know of to get rid of worms is to take them to the vet and have them give the medicine to get rid of them.

  Garlic can be VERY toxic to dogs. They can only have it in small amounts and I don’t even see how that would kill worms. I know it can be a mild flea repellent, but they really can’t have much of it at all…. and it NEEDS to be cooked and fresh. I’d just stay away from it all together.

  It does work, yes, but you’ll have to give the dog a good bit of it to kill worms. It gets rid of mosquitos and bug bites for humans if you eat loads of it every day when you’re near them, like in the jungle.

  The problem is, Onions are not good for dogs at all, and garlic in large amounts is not good for dogs either. Onions are the ones to stay away from though.
  You could try a clove of garlic, but the most reliable way to get rid of them is a worm tablet.
  There are other natural ways to cure things like this though.

  Your friend is wrong.. First a clove of garlic is like giving your dog onions.. It’s bad for them.. Garlic should be in pill form or cooked. Second, garlic is NOT going to get rid of worms at all.. You need to take poop sample to the vet and have it tested properly and the dog treated properly. Worms if allowed to get out of control, could very well kill your dog. Neglecting to properly medicate your dog is wrong.

  First, garlic is toxic to dogs and will kill them. The best thing to use is Coconut Oil put a little in the food. I do this once a week & it kills all kinds of worms except heartworm. You would be very surprised……………..Fleas cause worms so I have attached something for you:
  it is not safe to give your dog garlic to eat. Garlic is frequently suggested as a home remedy for flea problems, and this is an example of traditional wisdom being dangerously wrong. Dogs should never be given garlic or people food that has been cooked in garlic. This is for the same reason that dogs should not eat onions (although onions are more toxic) – garlic contains chemicals that kill and damages the dog’s red blood cells, and it can cause canine anemia, a serious blood illness. The symptoms of anemia include vomiting, diarrhea, and red colored urine.

  Dogs are a little more likely to get poisoned by garlic because they can be big enough and aggressive enough to eat large amounts of it. You should keep any containers of it well away from your dogs. If you have been feeding your dog garlic, or any food that is cooked in it, stop. Generally the damage is not permanent, because if you stop giving it to your dog its body will be able to return to producing a normal red blood cell count. However, if you see the dog acting sick or displaying symptoms of anemia, you should take it to the vet. Garlic is less toxic than some other foods, so a dog is not likely to have been poisoned if you have only been giving it small amounts, but you should err on the safe side and watch your dog for a week or so to make sure it seems healthy.

  Don’t give your dog the raw garlic. Give it the Kyolic garlic supplement you find at a health food store. Also give the dog Black Walnut supplement. It comes in liquid form. It depengs on the type of worms the dog has. Hookworms and whipworms requie the chemical wormers.
