I work a 9-5 day and would like to have a dog.
Which dog breeds do people recommend in the circumstances?

I have been thinking about a bulldog or perhaps a cocker spaniel?
I would not like a toy breed.

  In all honesty, I think any dog can thrive in a flat. I have a Border Collie, and they need LOTS of excercise, however, I have had him for 8 years, and we've lived in LOTS of different environments! I think if you are ready, willing, and able to get your dog out before your nine, and after your five, for a couple hours a day, you could handle any breed.

  I'm not saying you want a BC, I'm just sayin with the right time committment, you can get whatever breed you'd like. So ultimately, the choice is completely up to you!
