  It’s possible but exteamely unlikely that you would contract the worms from your puppy. don’t let him lick you in or on the mouth, and wash up good when you have to clean up after him. As for disinfecting the house, it’s not the problem, disinfecting the outside is, so good luck! dog’s get worms, it’s part of life, sniffing in the grass where dormant worm larvae are, eating a flea, finding a tasty dead animal, all equal worms, for puppies being born means they have worms, at least most do. So what to do? Get a broad spectrum wormer from your vet and administer, and then after dose again in two weeks so you get all the different stages that weren’t mature during the first worming. From then on you will probably just worm every six months for life, thats what I do at home, automaticly and without spending the money on stool sample testing.

  You should take your dog to the vet and get a prescription medication called Revolution, it comes in 6 month supplies .. it is kinda pricey depending on the size of your dog, but definatly worth the money . It treats for fleas, mites, worms, ticks. If you bring a stool sample with you to the vet, they will be able to tell you which kind of worms he has. You could be at risk for getting them too, just make sure to wash your hands well after picking up his messes. You don’t have to disinfect the entire house, just make sure to clean up his poop and I think that should be good enough.
