Parasites in dogs dogs are transferable from dog to dog regardless of whether or not they are in the same room together. If there is feces in any area that a dog may step in or eat or is able to have contact with, either because one dog has eaten feces from another dog….has stepped in the feces of the contaminated dog and then licked his or her paws or has drank water that has been contaminated with feces from another dog….parasites can be transfered from one dog to the other.
Dogs can also sniff the behinds of other dogs and digest microscopic parasites or eggs from a contaminated dog. It is best to keep your dog away from other dogs that you are not aware of their health or whether or not they have been declared as "fecal negative".
Having your vet conduct a routine "fecal direct" test periodically will keep your dog free from parasites and healthy.
roundworms can be spread from dog to dog, but tapeworms require ingesting the actual worm or a flea.
The above is spread only through french kissing. Please teach your dog to stay away from pre marital petting.
And YES, they can infect each other easily!
