Can my dog get worms from a cat who was just treated for worms?
My friend took his cat to the vet yesterday and the cat was treated for worms. Is it safe to take my dog over to his house? I guess I'm more concerned about my dog catching worms from the couch where his cat has laid (is that possible?) since the cat is now quarantined in its' own room.

As long as your dog doesn't go rummaging through the cats little box, your dog should be alright. Hey…you sit on the couch too, right?

It is possible in some matters if they have contact. That includes yards, litter boxes where the cat has defecated. Very few types of worms could be picked up from a couch but hey why not wait a few weeks. Some worms can be carried by fleas so what kind of worms the cat has depends on some of this but although un likely I wouldn't chance it, if it were not a necessity.

if your dog eats the cats poop then yes but if your dog doesn't go near the cat box it should be fine

when we got a new puppy he had worms, and they gave both dogs medication just in case(: hope I helped!
