Can a dog catch worms from eating the poop of a dog that i on medication for worms?

My puppy has worms and is on medication and has been for 2 weeks. Can it get worms again from eating its own poo while its on medication. Or another dog catch it? Or are the parasites in its poop dead when they’re defecated?

  It depends on which worms your puppy is being treated for.
  Do you know if it is roundworms, tapeworms, or hookworms? The two most commonly in puppies are roundworms and tapeworms.
  For roundworms ( both kinds) and tapeworms, Fresh feces is *not* infectious.

  Hookworms can spread to other pets and even humans, through feces.
  Hookworms are minuscule (12 to 15 mm) intestinal worms that hook onto the intestinal wall and consume copious amounts of blood. A hookworm infestation can kill a puppy before the eggs are ever discovered in a fecal exam. It is extremely important to test all dogs on a regular basis, as hookworms are not only very contagious to other pets, but also to humans.
