    to think our pets, by our hand, are performing cannibalism! to think cats and dogs are ground up and used to feed catle that we in turn eat…we are literally eating our own pets! that is absolutely terrible…what a world!!!

    species appropriate food…..real meat like we eat….dogs can even eat meat that has spoiled, e-coli and salmonella just doesn’t bother them due to their short digestive tract….the food is in and out of them, and the germs don’t have a chance to do any harm, they lick their bums, remember?….
    ask your friends and neighbours for any freezerburnt meat they have, it’s better for them than “pet food”, it’s still real food to start with….dogs will eat baked roadkill, given a half chance too

    The UK has the very best animal welfare.I’ve always been very impressed by their concern about animals.The US has such mass production that only special brands are safe for the pets.The general typical pet food is substandard for well being.

    Hi MsDiamond Dogs :) Thanks so much for the information!I was extremely shocked to find what is in our pets food.I am thrilled to hear about the quality controlls and that the
    food is USDA inspected.BHT and BHA is also of great concern.I didn’t know Paul Newman had pet food.He was always concerned about pure
    foods.I’ll look for Ann :)

    The best food is Halo, Harmony Farms, Blue Buffalo and Paul Newman’s. They have high quality controls and are USDA inspected so there isn’t much chance of dogs, cats or roadkill getting in the food. Also they have no or low recall histories and no class actions. They have not harmful preservatives like BHT, BHA, etc. You should read Ann N. Martin’s book. I hope this helps! (Halo is at petco & paul newman’s and harmony farms are at target.) I found some1 named lumiesoul…she has some good vids.)

    The only sure fire way is to make your own. That way you control what nutrients your dog gets, not some bottom line, profit hungry corporation. There are plenty of books on the subject with facts and good recipes. I would also definitely add a good protein, vitamin and mineral supplement such as K9-Rx to insure a solid, nutritional meal. What did dogs eat prior to corporate, mass produced dog food – for centuries? – Human Food!

    Yes UK is far more advanced and ethical in pet food thern america. japan and cananda. Ann N. Martin states that in her book. It’s illegal (as it should be) to use dogs or cats, horses tec. in pet food in the UK. I don’t know how safe there preservatives are though. I do know many people who can afford it prefer to import pet food from the UK becuase it is generally higher quality. I believe it’s PFMA or something that does special regulations or something. In the
    US sadly pet are in pet food.

    Must have different regs in the US compared to the UK then, As rendered pets and contaminated meats are a totally different category to what goes into pet food. We have seperate factorys that deal with pet foods and waste products. I also still state the “Green” on the material is a food dye. Look it up in the regulations, And it’s actually a blue colour before it’s sprayed on.

    Very true Lumiesoul. Their is alot of inconclusive, conveniently placed things out there. Companies hope we’ll all just shut up but no way in heck I’m I ever shutting up.
