    …this item only gets three stars, for two reasons. 1) The battery is supposed to last for up to 150 hours, but this one needs changing already although I haven’t used the light anywhere near that much. 2) The adjustment clasp doesn’t hold, meaning when you shorten the collar to the desired length, it creeps back to the full length within hours. I had to sew up both edges of the collar by hand.

    The light in the collar is very cool. However, because there is LED tubing all the way around, it is not actually adjustable because the LED is too thick to slide through the buckle. So it stays at the longest listed size.

    This collar is just as advertised. I gave it four stars instead of five because the light could be brighter and would probably work best on a dog with shorter hair, like a lab. The large size fits our Scottish Deerhound, but his coat is rather long around his neck and it covers this collar a bit, reducing its brightness. The collar is adjustable but to make it smaller, you need to trim the collar; in other words, it doesn’t adjust to fit like the standard nylon collar. The collar comes with instructions for trimming it; the process is straightforward but takes some time.

    The thought is a great idea. I have a black lab that loves the park for running. Because we walk him a lot of times when it’s dark, we needed some way of tracking him easily. The lighted collar works really well with a new battery, but that probably last for about 4-5hrs. and then becomes very faint. Again, it is a great idea, but doesn’t stay bright for as long as we would like it to.

    The big problem with this product is the way that it is packaged. The packaging folds the internal plastic thus leaving kinks in it. Thus when the light hits the kinks it is scattered and the collar becomes darker after each kink. There are two kinks, so the collar is nice and bright, hits the first kink becomes duller, and then hits the second kink and becomes even duller.

    The other problem is having to cut it down to size. It took over an hour to get the plastic light piece back into the collar. Very frustrating. Had to put it down several times..

    Product definitely needs better instructions.

    Can the plastic be put in hot water to remove the kinks?

    Is there an easy way to reinsert the plastic.

    Product appears that it would be great except for the comments above.
